D&D Day Camp
From 9:00 am to 3:00 pmDungeons and Dragons (D&D) is a collaborative storytelling game, where all you need to play are a pencil, paper, dice, and your imagination. (You supply the imagination; we’ll supply the rest!) This summer at River East, we are offering three weeks where to play, for students ages 9-14! Those weeks are: July 28 – August 1; August 5 – 8 (the week of the August Long Weekend); August 11-15. Please note: Each week of D&D Day Camp follows the same adventure. As such, campers may only participate in one week of the three. What to Expect: Campers will be divided into tables for the week, learn the game and its rules, and tell a cumulative adventure story together as a team, day after day. Depending on enrollment, tables will consist of 3-6 players and one experienced camp counsellor. Beginners are absolutely welcome! Between sessions there will be snacks and other D&D related activities, such as painting miniatures or practicing role-playing. Additionally, as a ministry of the church dedicated to developing story-telling skills, we will be sharing short stories from the Bible or Christian history as a way to illustrate how our stories shape our imagination. If you have any questions about our approach to storytelling, please don’t hesitate to contact Aaron at aaron@rivereastchurch.ca Other info: Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm daily; Cost: $125 per camper for 5 day weeks, $100 for the 4 day week (August Long). Please be aware that this cost may change based on the grant funding we receive this year. Bring: A bagged lunch for each day. Each camper will receive what they need to play D&D, and snack will be provided each day. Register on the day camp page: https://rivereastchurch.ca/day-camp/
